Virginia Sander - Equestrian Canada Licenced Competition Coach
Jinny began her competitive riding life at age 7 and since has studied and shown in all three of the English riding disciplines: Hunter/Jumpers, Dressage and Eventing. She has had the good fortune to train with some of the top riders, coaches and trainers in all of those disciplines. Her focus is getting the best from both the horse and its rider and working with both parties to create a successful team.
Her students have placed at the top levels at individual shows as well as province wide. Her daughter's riding career has been her top priority for most of her life. Ailsa started jumping cross rail courses at age 4 at shows and now is training in Florida across from the World Equestrian Park. Ailsa is currently training and riding the foal of her treasured mare Wilhemina (Wobine) that came to her from VDL Stud in Holland via Frankie Chesler and Churchill Bay Farm alumni rider Holly Jacks-Smither. Ailsa has had many wonderful years in the competitive show jumping sport world including winning medals at the B.C. Summer Games, competing in the qualifiers for the children's FEI and many happy miles just galloping the fields of the home farm, Churchill Bay Farm. Sadly her star mare was injured so preventing the goal of Young Riders at the time. However, the silver lining has been her mare with heart has given everyone great excitement for the future with the arrival of two lovely fillies, one of which is currently in training for the 1m jumpers. Willa's first foal is a stallion named Clapton currently competing in Europe. As a horse show mom/coach Jinny brings all the knowledge of the success of those students to bear in training the next generation of young riders. TEQ riders have won provincial championships, competed in the B.C. Summer Games and won medals and competed in a national competition at Bromont, Quebec. "The most important goal is always to love your horse and let that relationship make you a better person each and every day."
